The clerk's husband waited to do maintenance until AFTER it blew up,almost killing a village employee.

It was his idea to get Dan out of the fire station.
Ted had the mayor do his and the clerk's dirty work,Hal Lehman said so.

Dan did that to show the others what Holland is really like when it comes to his power trip. There were never any written reasons for Dan to be NOT allowed in a public building.
If there was,the village could have gone to the sheriff or the prosecutor's office and have it put in writting.

Once upon a time the village leaders decided the tax payers of BLV needed a new village hall and a ball field.
The village leaders talked it up,until they had everyone believing it was a good idea. Even they believed their own bullshit.
Parts of the plan were good,but most of the plan was half assesd.
The village leaders neglected to tell the BLV tax payers,that the fire department was really unsafe and could not do a proper job,with the equipment and staff it had.
The village leaders also neglected to tell the BLV tax payers,that the 3 buildings the village already owned were unsafe.
There are plenty of other issues the tax payers of BLV were never told,SO,the tax paying BLV residents were led to believe BLV could afford, what the village leaders wanted.
Now BLV is in the mess it's in,in part,from bad leadership.
Nobody in their right mind should go spend money on new things,until basics are taken care of.

Be Very Careful When The Moon Is Full said...: Hello 4:19 this afternoon. The answer to your question is NO, NO, NO, AND NO AGAIN! There is obviously No Zoning Inspector to speak of. Why would it be any different with the situation on Lakeview, or maybe it is a friend of his.
Yet another R T experinece, my neighbor was changing the front of their home, tearng out and putting in a bigger door.
Friend of R T's of course, they didn't have a building permit.
I asked a council woman about it and she told me that she asked R T and he said "If I'm right there, they don't need a permit". So she said "O K". I said "BULLSHIT" because I know better. A couple of days later, they were displaying a permit.
This is exactly how it is in Brady Lake.
I hope that no one is harmed before we get a Zoning Inpector who will do his job (hopefully from Franklin Township).

The clerk wanted to know if I wounld talk to these Franklin Township people and try to get them to become part of Brady Lake. The clerk said there was just really not enough tax base to operate the village properly.
I told the clerk she was nuts.
I have had property in Franklin Township and Brady Lake,for many years.
I told the clerk I would not do that to my friends and neighbors in Franklin Township.

These are quotes that sound exactly like many BL residents who have just given up!
Franklin Township is content with the police and fire protection they have. Why would anyone want Brady Lake for either? Most nites they are just plain not available.
Why would people want to pay a regional tax when there is none in Franklin Township.
There is a real honest to goodness zoning inspector in Franklin Township who actually earns his pay check.

I mentioned to Allen,that BLV could sure use some help with roads,plowing and general maintenance of the equipment.
Shortly after Allen was hired by the village,he told me he felt like quiting,because the Clerk's family treated him so badly.
Allen told me they acted like he was invading their territory.
I told Allen to hang in there,BLV really needed the help and I would help him with the maintenance of the BLV trucks and equipment.
SO,here we are today.
Allen and the whole clerk gang are pissed at me for doing no more than,telling it like it is.
That is something Allen always said was important to him.

A case is being built,(3 blog sites)to take the BLV officials to the Ohio Ethics Commission and then a law suit will be filed.
There is one difference with this law suit.

As of 4/1/11 the BLV police dapartment will be sending out letters to people in the village with unlicensed or inoperable vehicles.
The village has had for many years,ordinances to take care of this problem,the problem is,the BLV zoning inspector,RT Mansfield,needs an assistant to do this job,because it's so tuff.
It took about 4 hours,5 years ago,to have BLV free of all unlicensed,inoperable vehicles,and BLV didn't get sued.
Franklin Township has 1 zoning inspector that does his job,in an area many times larger than BLV.

That makes it about 1 a year.
At that rate BLV will finish the rental insections in 45 years,and that still leaves many serious private property issues.

When Ken Bescoe became fire chief,things went to hell fast. Bescoe continually lied to everyone about almost everything.

Bescoe used to get phone calls from his girl friend and work on her car at the BLV fire station. Bescoe went so far as to take a BLV fireman to his girl freinds house on a Tuesday fire meeting nite ,to work on his girl friend's car.

At one point I had enough of the Bescoe bullshit,and quit going to fire meetings. Besoce came to my place,and asked me to come back,because he said the fire dapartment needed my help.
SO,I went back to help. In a while Becoe's lying became too much to take. I told Bescoe,I was going to tell council about his lying.(mostly about the safety of the fire trucks)
Long story short,Bescoe retired,and I'm not allowed inside the BLV fire station,and Bescoe is on village council.
Honestly,I have better things to do than help the BLV fire department for free.

One other thing of interest took place while Bescoe was fire chief.
John Hayes acted like he wanted to be assistant fire chief,but was NOT able to attend many meetings or go to some fires,SO,BLV really needed an assistant fire chief who could be there.

Over the years I have helped out,for free,with many things in BLV. Fire trucks,police cars,and picking up trash are just some.

Everytime I worked on the BLV vehicles it was the same story.
NO real preventive maintenance,or record keeping had been done. Things were done on a fix-as-broken basis. The village officials also,would put up with half ass repairs to save money.

BLV council had ask me a few times to work on village vehicles at my shop,and I usually said NO,to avoid all the trouble.

At a council meeting one nite,Dave Kinney,said he thought the transmission in the one crown vic was going bad,and council asked me to look at it.
I called my attorney to find out if being an unpaid zoning inspector and working on village vehicles was a conflict of interest.
My attorney told me no,because I did not get paid for the zoning position.

I then found the crown vic in question had never been tuned up. The transmission was OK. The car just needed regular maintenance.
I told the mayor,the clerk,and council the police cars needed other things,to make them safe for the road.
I also told them it would look bad at first,because the police cars had been let go so long.

I then set up an account with Federated Auto Parts,so the village could get parts,at my large discount.I only charged the village labor for time spent on each repair.
NO real repair shop does that,because that doesn't pay the bills. I'm also certified in all parts of auto repair.
I just don't brag about it,but I do have the paper work to prove it.
I went so far as to bring,Dave Kinney,to my shop to see what each car needed,so he would know what was up.
I finally had enough of the BLV bullshit,when James Woolf was police chief.
One day a BLV police car had a coolant leak,and I was trying to show Woolf what it might be.
Woolf got smart,and said he thought it might be a head gasket.I got pissed and said maybe,but I don't really give a shit,why don't you and the police car get the f-ck off my property.
That was the last,I will ever have to do with any BLV repair,for any amount of money.

Doing work for BLV is like being beat with a stick,for almost no pay.
