How much is this latest BLPD incident going to cost the village and the taxpayers, either in insurance or another lawsuit?
The village is already on high risk insurance I believe.
I hope that this wasn't another case of speeding and reckless driving by the officers, as we have all witnessed on the streets of both BLV and Franklin Township, and which residents say they have reported to the chief.
I am glad that no one was seriously hurt and I hope the officer who was injured recovers fully, very soon.
However, I don't think that enough ticket money is generated to cover incidents like this.
As usual, the village seems to be going backwards.

At about 1:30 PM today,I was on Merrill Road,turning to go North on Lakeview Drive. As soon as I turned on Lakeview,in the street were 2 little kids fighting with each other,with NO adults in sight.
These 2 kids were like 2,and 3 or 4 years old.
I yelled at the kids to get out of the street. The older kid told me to get f-cked,but they got out of the street.

At about 10:00 PM tonite,there was 2 BLV cops,in 1 BLV white Ford cop car,at O'Neils drive-through in Franklin Township.
They were standing outside talking to the owner.
When the 2 BLV cops left O'Neil's,they smoked the tires,and went East on Brady Lake Road,towards BLV,at about 80 MPH,with NO lites or siren.
All this was done to end up,in BLV driving in circles,and then the 2 cops left BLV about 11:00 PM,in their own vehicles.
You would think after what happened early last Thursday morning,with 2 other BLV cops,and the wrecked BLV cop car,they would slow down,when not on a call,especially with NO lites,or siren on.
Folks,BLV has more than 1 Gun-Ho cop working for free,to keep their police commission,but not to keep things safe.

I, also witnessed the police leaving the drive thru at approximately ten o'clock last nite and what you say is right on the mark.
The left the drive thru and were traveling at a totally unnecessary rate of speed going East on Brady Lake Road.
I would say at least 65 to 70 mph with no lights or siren maybe faster because they were out of sight in record time.
What if a deer crossed the road or someone was backing out of their drive way.

It might be a good idea to clarify which 'Mantua' . . . Mantua Township. There's a Mantua Village that is one square mile in the southeast corner of Mantua Township.

I called the village clerk this afternoon about 1:30 and asked if she had the records that Dan and I had requested on May 24, 2012 ready.
First, she said that she never got the letter and I told her that she had signed it verifying receipt on the same date. As a matter of fact a copy of the letter is on this Blog site.
Then she said she supplied it to us. She did supply a sparse amount of requestd verification from a previous request which generated the May 24 record request concerning Village Hall rental income for 2004 thru 2006.
I again went over, with her, what was requsted.
Also, a copy of the lease agreement between Dan Boyle and the village was requested.
She said that she had to "dig it out of the archives" and that would take some time.I told her that this request was made over a month ago and she said she still needed more time but that she would have the hall rental records ready in a few days. I asked that she let me know when I could pick it up.
It really does seem that this last request was totally ignored as many other items which we have requested in the past have been.
We are not asking for anything confidential, just items which are of concern to us a taxpaying residents of the village.
We are part of the public requesting public records.

I filled out a BLV zoning complaint form,and gave it to the BLV officials,at BLV hall.
The complaint was about BLV employee Allen Mathes,and his many zoning violations,at Allen's Erie Street property.

At about 5:00 PM today 6/27/12, I was coming back to my shop from a road test,and went to my business mail box at 1641 Brady lake Road.

I was driving North on Lakeview Drive. When I rounded the blind curve where Lakeview meets Hartman.
BLV cop Kenny Ray had been hiding on Hartman,out of sight to anyone driving North on Lakeview.
There was a black SUV in front of me,that looked like it was going about the 25 MPH speed limit.
All at once the white BLV cop car,with Kenny Ray in it pulled out in front of me,and I almost hit it.
Kenny Ray then drove North on Lakeview,ran the stop sign at Park,and Lakeview,plus drove well over 50 MPH,right by the ballfield on Lakeview,that had many kids playing baseball.
Kenny Ray then turned in the BLV hall parking lot to get the black SUV,that was going to an AA meeting.
This is just what's wrong with BLV getting FREE cop help,and police chief Toe to Toe in charge.
I sent an e-mail plus pictures about this Kenny Ray incident to the BLPD,the sheriff,the prosecutor,the mayor,and a few news papers,plus news shows.
