Why is Brady Lake Village BROKE ?
The Brady Lake Village (BLV) officials (clerk gang) have mis-managed BLV tax dollars until BLV is broke. The BLV clerk gang has provided No straight answers how BLV will get better,So Laurel (Sis) Archer will be going to BLV council meetings with a camera and note pad and the Real BLV council meeting minutes will be on this CAMP blog site or the- NUTS= Not Us They Said -blog site. For about 6 years I Dan Boyle was an unpaid Brady Lake Village (BLV) zoning inspector and worked on the BLV fire trucks for free. So I got to know all the BLV clerk gang. (officials)
BLV clerk-mayor Ethel Nemeth runs BLV hall and is cold hearted bitch.
Ethel Nemeth has a grandson named Joshua Moore who was employed by BLV using no job application and Joshua was on BLV council, promoted to that position by Ethel Nemeth while in her BLV hall office.
1 day at BLV hall Ethel Nemeth ask me Dan Boyle if her grandson Joshua Moore who lived in Ethel's rental house on Lakeview Drive in BLV could live in 1 of my rental houses in Franklin Township and work for me at Boyle's Automotive to pay his rent.
After finding out Joshua Moore has drinking and paranoid problems I said No to Honest Ethel.
The question is and/or the questions are.
Why did BLV clerk Honest Ethel Nemeth want her grandson Joshua Moore out or her rental house and in a Dan Boyle house working for Dan Boyle ?
Is it just me or is BLV clerk Honest Ethel Nemeth a Cold Hearted Bitch looking out for # 1 ?

This is yet another BLV dysfunctional area. To collect these back due BLV taxes BLV would need an attorney who at least comes to BLV council meetings and returns phone calls. BLV would also need a clerk who could and/or knew how to keep records.
BLV is lacking in both these areas.
So it looks like we're back to the BLV mayor's wishing things better in BLV or the mayor step up and get some real BLV employees not the good-ole-boy method.(nepotism)

I saw in the newspaper the delinquent real estate tax list-there are a lot in the village as noted on this Blog Site.
I know that these are difficult times for some people and some just do not have the money or maybe they are asking why they should pay real estate or any tax in Brady Lake Village. I am!
We all know that part of the R E taxes go to Kent City Schools, we are paying for the ball field which we did vote on, and we are paying a sewer assessment-the last two being f--ked up by village administration-we could and should have had water with the sewer but they forgot to do the water part from what I have heard and the ball field could have been purchased far more reasonably if it had been done correctly and earlier which was offered to the village.
Not to mention we are still paying for the new village hall which seems to be for the creature comforts and socializing of the clerk and her family and friends.
What exactly are we getting for our tax $ in BLV? Paying the officials to do as they please without regard for the rest of the village as well as the whole community?
Franklin Township was just below our tax amount but you can clearly see the difference. They actually care about the people.
All I see for my tax $ is almost impassable roads, a dysfunctional PD and FD, and a council who secretly decides our futures as residents here.
The county is responsible for collecting R E taxes but the attitude of the mayor and other officials just seems to be "DUH" it'll be alright it will work out but Mr. Mayor and other Officials-WHEN?-in our lifetime? It just is not working and now there is so much damage that it will take a lifetime to fix it!
Just take a look at the plunder in Carson's Park and the caved in overflow and flooding.
You need to give it up and I am sure you know it! It is selfish to try to keep it going. The damage is done!
As far as volunteering-people are all used up, we've all done our fair share!
Paying taxes to BLV is a fucking joke for what BLV resident get in return. Too bad issue 10 to dissolve BLV didn't pass.
Not only are Franklin Township Real Estate taxes less but they do not have a local income tax.
I attended a FT meeting and the Trustees all agreed that they did not want to raise resident's taxes if at all possible and requested alternate ways to fix problems. They are obviously well versed and professional.
Yet even the BL Officials have to admit that everything in FT is far superior to the village of BL.
I have heard the clerk and her gang suggest everything from raising taxes to selling anything and everything we possibly can plus trying to talk people into annexing part of the FT into BLV!
What do we see in comparison, nothing!
Everything in the village is ashambles and not much hope of fixing anything correctly.

Why would the village let that sort of tax revenue slide without any collection attempt? 31,7779.04 is a fairly large sum of money for a community where streets are in disrepair & services are apparently neglected. The council should ask the solicitor or law director to take a look at the list ???

The $ 31,779.04 tax renenue owed Brady Lake Village(BLV)is just another example of how things are done at BLV hall by the clerk gang.
In the 6 years I was involved with BLV and all the different BLV departments it was always the same dysfunctional story.
Now you can see why BLV is broke.
Between the BLV clerk gang spending BLV tax dollars on things they shouldn't have and not doing their BLV jobs. BLV is where it is today.
Things in Franklin Township are not done the BLV way and that's why Franklin Township residents pay lower taxes,have no income tax plus have much better services and streets all the way around.

Brady Lake Village is in such terrible shape now that I do not think anything will fix it.
The main focus of the village officials now appears to be to keep their pay checks and continue their farce of being in control, (in the words of the mayor) "Everything will be all right.", he can't even believe that.
The main focus is on a grant for new signs in the village-probably used signs because they are getting a grant of approximately $7000.00 for these signs and Franklin Township and ODOT are involved.
Signs are exactly what we need?
The other thing which is in the works is a restructuring of the police department to cover the .3 Square miles of village and possibly Franklin Township. That's the priority at this time.
Does ANYONE know of any REAL CRIME the Brady Lake PD has solved. Just ticket, ticket, ticket!
I understand they couldn't even solve a felony when they KNEW exactly who the perpetrator was!
It appears to be one big game, like Monopoly and Brady Lake Village is not Boardwalk.
But say anything and you go directly to jail!
I have learned a new disrespect for the police and I learned it straight from the Brady Lake PD.

Brady Lake Village (BLV) for being only 0.3 square miles in size and having about 500 residents has more zoning violations and/or serious safety issues than most towns or villages that are way larger than BLV.
These serious health and safety violations have been around BLV for at least 30 years.
The BLV mayor Hal Lehman is going to get BLV some new signs to make BLV a better/safer place to live.

1-Drive at your own risk most BLV streets are f-cked ?
2-Do not buy a house beside Brady Lake it floods causing black mold ?

Now he is getting free signs. What benefit to the village does he think these signs might be?
We seem to have become a charity of sorts to take anything we can for free or next to nothing, used and sometimes used up. Police cars, equipment for the Fire Department, cheap and inadequate maintenance on vehicles.
Where does BLV's portion of our taxes go? To keep a mayor and his staff to except donations and free help from volunteers who are totally drained (except for the village officials and clerk's family, of course, who are paid while the rest of us do without)We have to deal with bad streets, lake caved in overflow, our neighbors flooding because of us,selling assets, etc., etc., etc.

On Friday 3/7/14- -3 Brady Lake Village (BLV) employees plus BLV mayor Hal Lehman were patching chuck holes on Merrill Road in front of the BLV fire department and on Erie behind Twin Star Bowling lanes.
Here's a few things some BLV area residents noticed about the BLV road patching and patching crew.
1-The chuck holes were Not cleaned of loose stone and old asphalt before patching.
2-The chuck holes were Not dried out and/or they had water in them when patched by the dysfunctional BLV road crew.
3-No preparation such as heating the old asphalt before the new asphalt was put in was done.
4-The BLV road crew was very busy waving,smiling and talking to passing vehicles.

Do you BLV area residents know in the BLV maintenance garage is a blower that could be used to clean and dry out chuck holes ?

You can't just put asphalt into a chuckhole with no preparation . At the bare minimum it has to be a dry surface, rolled and tar sealed. Otherwise you may as well use sand from a child's sandbox . Because 1 good freeze cycle already starts breaking it from the bottom up.

What about the cold patch we paid for because we could never afford to fix the streets correctly because we have no money.
Whatever $ we spent on cold patch is going to go right down the drain and then what.
It was suggested to someone by council that they take another route but that is a little difficult when you live in the village and have no other route to get home.
I am truly disgusted and abhorred at the treatment that the village residents get from the officials.
All we need in village hall is half a brain and we would be far better off than we are now!

Brady Lake Mayor announces an "Adopt A Pothole" Program.
The Mayor stated: "If each Villager would adopt and pay for the repair of a hundred or so potholes each we could fix our bumpy roads problem."

How many years has it been since the clerk gang moved to their plush village hall?
As of this date, the clerk has not changed the address from Merrill Road, the Police Drpartment either.
I would think she could handle that little task-but evidently not.
