Why is Brady Lake Village (BLV) broke ?
In the last 3 or so years the Brady Lake Village (BLV) officials have been ask for public records. Not only are there missing public records,there's missing money. So the BLV public record requestors are now working with the SIU-Special Investigations Unit of the State Auditor's Office,the Ohio Ethics Commission and the BCI-Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the Attorney General's Office. BLV really does need to be Dissolved for many reasons and some of those reasons are the BLV officials.

In fact the State Auditor's office has told the BLV officials things ain't working and aren't going to.
The BLV clerk and her gang of course thinks differently.

A save the Village rally was announced at last nights council meeting. It is scheduled to take pace on Saturday October 5th I believe that's correct,but the time and date need to be verified. When asked, council said only a pro village position will be presented at the rally. This rally would be the perfect place for some brave soul to hand out flyers presenting all the benefits to rejoining Franklin Township. Including no income tax and better services.

I've known RT for about 40 years and in that 40 years RT has always used big words to talk down to others.
I became an unpaid BLV zoning inspector because RT was afraid I was going to sue BLV and him for not doing anything about the fire trap BLV rental properties.
After about 6 years of listening to RT's bull-shit and RT doing BLV zoning on a who you are basis,plus the BLV clerk gang's lies,it was time to step up and tell how things really are in BLV and at BLV hall.

It's been told to me by a couple people,that Ethel and Richard Nemeth owed back taxes on the failed business.
Last week when I met with the 2 guys from the Attorney General's Office,I mentioned the Nemeth's failed business and Ethel Nemeth's BLV record keeping and how history repeats itself.

You can clearly see the BLV clerk gang(officials)are,BETWIXT,a Rock and a Hard place.
BLV has been run by the BLV clerk gang until BLV is broke.
Many things in BLV are very unsafe,including BLV's emergency services.(streets & lake overflow too)
The BLV clerk gang has and/or is trying to convince some BLV residents everything in BLV and at BLV hall is OK.
So,the BLV clerk gang is,BETWIXT,just more lies about how things really are for BLV tax paying residents.
Today is flea market day and a reliable source told me Squaw Findabargin and Chief Kicksomeass are going to the Shady Rest flea market and then have a picnic by a lake.
So,the flea market Duo is going to be,BETWIXT,a good time and fun looking for cool stuff.
I got a look at the Village's playbook, and the strategy they are planning to use at their October rally, of course it's based on intimidation and lies, what a surprise.
They are proposing to tell the folks that if Franklin Township takes over, the $400,000.00 plus debt that the village owes, will have to be paid back immediately, by the 400 or so properties owners in the village, and it would cost each property owner about $1,000.00 per property.
They are going to tell people that if the village survives the debt will be paid off slowly through income taxes, and would be cheaper for the property owners.
What they are not going to tell the people, is that Franklin Township has a lot of options to handle that debt, rather than just send everyone a bill for $1000.00. Which we know will not happen.
Franklin Township has many options, Franklin Township can sell the Village Hall, the ball field, all the fire equipment and the fire station property and any other assets the Village owns, including the gas well to pay down the debt. The sale of all those assets would reduce the debt considerably.
Or Franklin may choose to roll the debt into their debt and have all the residents of Franklin pay it off.
Or have former Brady Lake property owners pay off the debt over time, and when this debt is paid off we will still benefit from no income tax, in fact we will benefiting from from no incomes tax while we pay off the village debt, which will offset the cost.
I'm sure Franklin Township has many ways to handle that debt without hurting the former residents of the Village.
The Village supporters can not be allowed to frighten the residents with lies and deceit. I'm not sure what type of counter attack would need to be waged to dispel their lies, but I trust someone out there can come up with a plan of action. Maybe Franklin Township can be contacted, and asked to clarify how the debt would be handled if the takeover is successful, and that information can be handed out at the rally. May God save the residents of Brady Lake from their oppressors.
Back on 5/10/11 Laurel Archer and I Dan Boyle,went to talk to the Franklin Township officials.
In fact some of what I had to say at that meeting is up on the bottom half of this CAMP blog site.
We were told by the Franklin Township officials they would not have to take on Brady Lake's debt.
Brady Lake Village has enough assets to take care of the debt.
These are assets Brady Lake residents won't need.
In the 6 or so years I was involved with the Brady Lake officials,it was 1 lie after another,until I had enough and here we are today.
Most Brady Lake Village (BLV) resident never knew the BLV fire department was in such sad shape,while the BLV officials had to have a new BLV hall.
BLV needs to end (dissolved) and BLV residents deserve the truth from their paid officials.

As you can see by the e-mails on the top of the main page of this CAMP blog site Warner Mendenhall said he would be at the 10/5/13 meeting at BLV hall.
In fact on Monday 9/30/13 I will e-mail these CAMP blog posts to Warner Mendenhall,so Warner will have some idea as to possible questions about Dissolving BLV.

I read the editorial by Fresch. Someone with some real knowledge needs to answer the question, as to whether we go to Franklin Township or not. If we are getting bad information from Fresch, that question needs to be put to rest, as soon as possible. We can not have a lie like that hanging out there, if it is indeed a lie. It simply doesn't help the cause.
Is it possible for Mr. Mendenhall to write up a short letter addressing this point and clarifying the issue. The letter can be distributed around the village and possibly end up in the newspaper. Just a suggestion.

This morning 10/2/13 I sent Attorney Warner Mendenhall the letter to the Record Couier editor by Dick Fresch along with why Dick Fresch and his wife would sign the petition to Dissolve Brady Lake Village(BLV)and then decide to go with the BLV clerk gang.
Dick Fresch has a long history of thinking he knows about BLV,but look at his health hazard property on some of the BLV blog sites.
Fresch also ran for BLV clerk,but didn't get the votes,because BLV voters know him.
Dick Fresch used to keep records for the BLV Fireman's association. When I took over the BLV Fireman's association records there was missing money.
I never found out if the money was stolen or just bad record keeping.
Soon after this record problem was discovered,Dick Fresch quit the BLV fire department and the BLV Fireman's association.
I think Dick Fresch still wants to be BLV clerk and will try to make things go his way,no matter what.

I would really like to hear some details about Saturdays meeting, like how many people were in attendance,and which Village officials were present? What was discussed, and were pro and con arguments presented? Did Mr. Mendenhall speak and what did he say? Which side had the most convincing arguments? Was anyone able to expose the lie about the Village turning into a new Township, or the Villager's having to pay off all the debts. Some of us who were unable to attend, need to hear an accurate account of what went on. If anyone can communicate the details to us, we would greatly appreciate it.

I was at the meeting, and the PD was represented , The officer who spoke said he was relatively new, and spoke in a well articulated manner, about the pitfalls of losing a law enforcement presence in Brady Lake. The officers are all current Ohio Peace Officers. In particular part of what he said was the officers in the village do quite a bit to cut off an artery for the drug flow off route 59 , A good point was also made that the response time between a s/o car and a BLPD car can be life altering. BLPD can respond 16-20 hrs a day inside roughly 2 minutes. PCSO has 4 cars per shift. In an emergency situation where medical treatment is needed that can be the difference between the morgue and the rehab unit at the hospital. He was actually fairly intelligent.

If you lived near the Brady Lake Village (BLV) police department you would then know.
It's hit or miss with the hours the BLV police actually work.
Since most BLV police are from other areas they don't know this area.
I've lived in BLV for 37 years,but I've lived in Franklin Township and own property there,so I know the Portage County Sheriff does a decent job,for way less in taxes than BLV residents pay.
There's going to be a meeting on 10/29/13 at BLV hall about dissolving BLV and the BLPD chief is invited. Let's see if he shows and what he has to say about the BLV police protection.
Even if the BLPD does call for help,they won't get the BLV fire department,dispatch calls Ravenna Township or Kent.
When BLV is dissolved and goes back to Franklin Township,BLV residents will have Kent for their emergency needs.(much better for lower taxes.)
The 10/29/13 meeting at BLV hall is to try and answer all questions,not just what the BLV officials want you to hear.
I'm sure the Brady Lake police dept. play a crucial role, stopping drug traffic off rt. 59. What a joke! Maybe the D.E.A will show up at the next meeting and tell the citizens that America is better off because the Brady Lake police are on the job.
So when I see a Brady Lake cop running radar next to the Village hall at 9:30am on a Sunday morning, he's just protecting us from drug dealers. Just wanted to get that one straight, and when they harass Village citizens with their gestapo tactics, or when they help the zoning Czar do his dirty work. They are really protecting us from the Mexican drug lords.
Maybe the chief only hires cops with x-ray vision so the can see drugs in the cars as the go by on Rt. 59 from their perch at the bowling alley. Why else would they always have someone pulled over on Rt.59 when I drive by.
Folks lets be honest, the only reason all those cops are working the Village, is to raise enough money to keep their Chief employed,and the Village in business, and that,s the only reason. I don't think the Feds need their help in order to control drugs in our area, besides wasn't there a meth lab or two operating in the Village, right under their noses. I believe one of them was right next door to the Village hall.
As far as response time, every time I have ever needed a cop the Sheriff is the only one that ever shows up, and they always respond within minutes. So I have nothing to fear, as far as response time is concerned.
Lets not fall for more Brady Lake propaganda, these are bad people, only concerned with themselves, they are blood suckers, and will continue to suck our's unless we vote them all, out of town.
The Village officials have no answers, or solutions to all the problems, they just want us to keep them around because, it's the way its always been. well unfortunately for them we have run out of money, and we have run out of patience.
They all need to go, and the only way to get rid of all of them for good, is to vote to dissolve the Village. So remember to vote early and often.

When I Dan Boyle was an unpaid BLV zoning inspector and Dave Kinney was on the BLV police department as just an officer.
I told Dave Kinney about the house at 6504 Lakeview Drive in BLV,next to BLV hall. I told Dave Kinney that a guy named Charles Mills was possibly making Meth in the basement of that house next to BLV hall. I live next door at 6482 Lakeview Drive in BLV.
Of course nothing was done.
When Charles mills moved out a cleaning person found Meth stuff in the basement and called the Sheriff.
The house next to BLV hall is listed on the internet as a Meth house.
To this day the house next to BLV hall has never been OK'ed by any officials for people to live in.
BLV police chief Dave Kinney,along with the BLV officials know this,because I told them at a BLV council meeting.

You hit the nail right on the head! I believe the police officer who made the comments at the meeting, Saturday, may have actually believed what he said which would make him pathological and possibly not stable.
I have problems with this type of personality having a badge and gun.

We definitely need to get out of this present situation and move on to responsible protection and representation. Franklin Township does not seem to have a problem with police protection and they are much larger than Brady Lake Village.

Things are even worse than last year as far as emergency services in the village.
Local dispatch knows Not to call Brady Lake Village(BLV)for an emergency such as a car in the lake.
BLV does not have the man power,plus BLV has worn out equipment.
Local dispatch knowing these things usually calls Ravenna Township or Kent and in the case of the car in the lake,the Highway Patrol was called because the BLV cops were no where to be found.
Now the BLV officials to save money have contracted with an out of the area dispatch service.(really not good !)
I'm putting together an email to be sent to the Ohio Attorney General about what the BLV officials have NOT done about the BLV fire department and emergency services.
I have this information because I worked on the BLV fire trucks for free for about 6 years,while I was an unpaid BLV zoning inspector.
Former fire chief Ken Bescoe,who resigned to then retire,has lied about the condition of the BLV fire equipment for way too long.

Today 10/11/13 at about 10:00 AM, I Dan Boyle was driving by Brady Lake Village(BLV)hall.
I noticed BLV clerk-mayor Ethel Nemeth's legal advisors the Hollands leaving BLV hall and took their picture.
Former BLV council president Ted Holland thinks he's an attorney and keeps getting Ethel Nemeth,plus BLV in trouble.
No sooner than the Hollands left BLV hall,Laurel (Sis) Archer was told by BLV clerk-mayor Ethel Nemeth,that Sis could No longer get any BLV public records,because Dan Boyle said he was suing BLV.(law suit not filed yet)
I just can't see a real attorney like BLV's attorney telling Ethel Nemeth to Not give a tax paying BLV resident public records.
In fact I called the BLV attorney Errol Can on 10/7/13 to invite him to the 10/29/13 meeting at BLV hall,about dissolving BLV.

It's sad that Brady Lake citizens who support dissolving the village, must fear selective retaliation if issue 10 fails. Anyone who lives here knows what happens to people who disagree with the village officials.
We have to live in fear, that if we should post a sign supporting issue 10, and it fails we are in deep trouble.
We know that if we need a permit, or need the support of the police, or the village for some reason in the future, help will be denied. We may even fall victim to harassment by zoning, or the police.
Many of us in the village are already victims of harassment from zoning, and the police, just because, we disagreed with them.
You can tell who receives specials treatment from the village, because they all have signs in support of saving the village. Dick Fresch, and Allen Mathis are in constant violation of village zoning laws, but continue to do as they please, without retaliation. Why? just look in their yards, they support the village, and the village protects them from their own laws.
Just about every home that displays a sign supporting the village has received a special favor from the village at some time, or expects one in the future.
This is America, yet in this little village of 500 people, some must live in fear, because of tyrannical village officials, who will retaliate you can be sure of that.
Issue 10 must pass so the average citizen in Brady Lake Village can finally live without fear of it's government.
Just got home from work and viewed the Blog-interesting day on the Blog today-as is every day.

While reading a flyer being circulated by the Brady Lake Save the Village Committee (people or persons), I have cause to wonder what kind of people do not realize that we all have volunteered and tried to make Brady Lake Village work to no avail, we have volunteered for over one quarter of a century and all we have worked for has been put up for collateral for who knows what.
We all know who got us into the 430,000 debt we are now in!? I don't see anything that has been done for the residents.
Oh I forgot we are going to have leaf pick up this year-we don't have the money but the clerk's husband will drive the truck for free and we they are asking for other volunteers, what about the liability? Isn't it odd that this transpires just before election day? I understand all kinds of promises are being made at this time, situations which have been ignored for decades.
I guess we (the residents don't get any services which cost money).
We cannot get grants for anything because we don't have matching funds as per the mayor's own words.
The reason that the matching funds rule exists is that we have to show that we are responsible in handling money which we are not!
I think that selling Carson's Park without the permission of the people is just another slap in the face to the fine people of Brady Lake Village.
When are we going to find a better future for all of us?
This Brady Lake Township ploy is just that! They are threatening us with a debt that they made! They should be held personally responsible for that!
I think the conduct of the Village Officials has been "remarkably foolish" and the true reason we are in the mess we are in.

If any of them think we will ever get a different result, from the Village officials, have to be either inane or are expecting special favors, one or the other. After all there isn't one logical reason to keep things the way they are.
I want to challenge the supporters of the Village to look deep in their hearts, and ask themselves if they can come up with one unselfish reason to vote to keep the Village intact.
If you search your heart and only come up with selfish reasons, then why not think of your neighbors, and what might be best for them. After all they may not get the special favors you do,and they may not make money at everyone's expense like you do, and they may not think everything should remain the same, because that's the way its always been.
So its time to step out of ourselves and think of our neighbors, and their welfare, not the selfish reasons to keep the Village opperating.
Let all do what's best for our neighbors and vote yes on issue 10. It will make you feel great!

At about 3:30 PM today 10/19/13 I Dan Boyle was on a road test in Brady Lake Village.(BLV)
I was at the intersection of Leonard and Lakeview Drive,when a BLV cop in the White Crown Vic cop car was headed North on Lakeview.
This is the same BLV cop who drives from Lake County to work in BLV for free and also the same BLV cop who told BLV residents how great he is and/or was at the 10/5/13 meeting at BLV hall,about dissolving BLV.
I've named this great BLV cop Dumb-F-ck,because today while he was driving a BLV cop car in the rain,BLV cop Dumb-F-ck had No lites on.(NONE)
At the intersection of Lakeview and Park in BLV,I turned off my headlites and left my parking lites on to cut down the reflection and took a blog cam picture.

In fact this morning at 10:48 AM,a Portage County Commissioner called me to tell me she has talked to the Franklin Township Trustees and when BLV is Dissolved it goes back from where BLV came,Franklin Township.
So for a Monday it's been a good day for BLV residents who are sick and tired of paying the highest taxes in the county,plus an income tax to have poor services and a bunch of idiots at BLV hall,acting like they're doing BLV residents a favor.
I Dan Boyle do,ASSEVERATE,that if BLV is not Dissolved by vote,I'm going to file a class action law suit,along with all the BLV area residents who have had enough of the BLV clerk gang's lies and cover-up.
Should we really believe that all of a sudden the Village cares about our fallen leaves? That they are so overcome with a sense of civic duty, and a desire to do right by the citizens of the Village. That they are assembling a group of volunteers to collect our leaves. Does anyone think the elections in November might have something to do with this sudden attempt at civic duty.
Does the the question as to why they didn't use a group of volunteers to collect the leaves last year bother anyone.
Maybe this suggest that their motives are not honest, or honorable. Could they just be trying to continue the charade perpetrated on the citizens of Brady Lake.
The charade that they are competent, responsible, unselfish, and really care about the future of the Village and its citizens, and will conduct their duties fairly, and will not show any partiality, or favoritism in the execution of their jobs.
Unfortunately for us the Village government is a sham. Dishonest people always tell on themselves, one way or another, and the Village is exposing their lies by collecting leaves this year, and not last year.
Don't allow this selfish, and dishonest group, continue to make fools of us all, We must succeed and dissolve the Village.

Speaking of the village officials exposing themselves-they are posting signs against Issue 10 and spreading lies and working their little feet off trying to stop the disincorporation of the village.
HOWEVER there is another issue, Issue Number 11 for a proposed tax levy for the benefit of the fire department. for maintaining fire apparatus and fire protection services, which they seem to have totally forgotten about! I see or hear no campaigning for that issue, only the one to keep their farce going and their paychecks coming in!

To: Francis Sweeney: It's normal human psychology to call names when they have no real intelligent argument, for or against something. By all your name calling, and muck raking, you proved at least you are human. It would take a whole lot more than petty insults for you to be proved intelligent.
There are many citizens in the Village, who have witnessed the many inadequacies in the Village. Regardless of Daniel's (as you refer to him)original motivations. He has exposed an expensive problem, in the form of ineffective government.
I doubt that Dan's past, what ever it was, caused all of the bad decision making, are officials are guilty of.
You can try to redirect the argument and make it about Dan, or you can be honest with yourself and see how badly the Village officials have failed us.

This record request was for information about BLV hall rental money and info about the purchase of BLV hall,that was done Without the vote of BLV residents.
BLV clerk-mayor Ethel Nemeth has and/or is in charge of BLV hall rental and the money.
In today's Record Couier,BLV mayor Hal Lehman said the audit of BLV was OK and no money was missing.
The audit of BLV was finished Before I sent information about BLV hall rental money and donated money to the State Auditor's Office.
This information is 1 of the reasons the Attorney General's Office sent 2 guys to my shop to see my records and look at the BLV blog sites.
If BLV is not dissolved by vote,it's going to be finished another way,but it will be finished.

The people of the village can decide on the alterations that time has proven necessary I cant help but express a wish that every member of the village, who may have objections to keeping Brady Lake a Village of good people. I can't seem to find Francis Sweeney on the Voter's Registration List but my list is a little old, maybe you are new to the village or are using a pen name, doesn't matter, obviously you are not totally aware of your surroundings and are being a little mislead.
I have know Dan Boyle for many years and as you said Dan did help the village for years but was driven away when he started to let the problems in the village be known to the public.
Those problems still exist and factually nothing is being done about them.
As far as finishing the village, the village officials have done a fine job of that!
As far as the people deciding on the "alterations" of the village, they have really not had much say until the November ballot. My personal observation is that all decisions were made by the Village Officials and their family and friends, not much input by the residents was appreciated or considered.
I am sure the "good people" of the village will still be good people whatever their address might be.
No matter how you personally feel about Dan Boyle, he is still working FOR the residents and that FACT, not FICTION.
Maybe you should do a little more research and try to keep an open mind. You can start with the State Auditor's Report and the Ohio Revised Code.
Brady Lake Village is broke and in horrible debt, do you want to add to that?

You want to make putting the Village out of it's miser, about some deficiency in Boyle's personality. This has nothing to do with Dan. This is bigger than Dan, he was just the catalyst that brought all the issues to the forefront.
You entertain fantasy when you say Dan should allow the citizens to keep their Village. Where should all the money we don't have come from?
Are you proposing higher taxes, because that is the first step. Are you suggesting that we give more money to the incompetents that run the Village, because that would be step two. That sounds like a winning combination, after all we have seen how well it has worked in the past.
You have posted twice recently, and besides personal attacks, and insults you have not offered one valid reason to keep the Village. The only possible reason I can glean from your comments is, because this is the way it's always been. The tax payers can't afford to pay for your fond memories.
Times are changing, the economy is changing, peoples ability to pay taxes are changing, and peoples attitudes towards lousy government are changing.
I challenge you to post three good non emotional reasons we should keep the Village as it is. The lies about the Village becoming a Township or the lie that all residents are on the hook for the debts are not considered as valid reasons. Those reasons have already been debunked as false, by a competent civil rights attorney and Franklin Township.

I've done some research on Francis Sweeney, they are a fraud. The impostor Sweeney is as dishonest as the Village they are trying to save. There are no property records, court records, voting records, residence records, drivers licence records, tax records, or phone records.
If they know Dan Boyle so well, and Brady Lake affairs so well, there would be some record of their existence.
Francis Sweeney is probably a desperate Village official attempting to keep their tax payer funded job.

As important as lower taxes, better roads, and a more responsive local government are. The most important reason to go back to Franklin Township, is to end the rein of R.T. Mansfield the "Zoning Czar".
If the people are not successful closing down the Village. He will make sure everyone who signed the petition will be punished. By the use of his unchecked authority, he will get even.
Even if you signed the petition and now have changed your position on issue 10, your signature helped to put issue 10 on the ballot.
So if you think by changing you position and putting out a yard sign, in support of the Village, you are now safe , you are wrong. He will get you.
The only way to be safe from the wrath of "The Zoning Czar" is to terminate the Village, and make sure he never gets a position of power again.

Remember folks Brady Lake Village(BLV) is 0.3 square miles in size,has 3 cop cars and about 20 cops.
Tonite about 6:00 pm,I was on my way home from work going East on Brady Lake Road.
When I got to BLV hall I saw 2 BLV cop cars.
1 BLV cop car was lurking behind the outside furnace on the North side of BLV hall,beside Brady Lake Road,facing West.
I saw this BLV cop car,the black and white 1,pull out in front of 2 cars,almost causing an accident,to go after a car that was going about 45 mph.
This 45 mph car was headed West on the North side of Brady Lake Road. The North side of Brady Lake Road is NOT in BLV.
I turned around and went towards Kent to see what was up. BLV cop Deep End had an older woman out of her car at the church on Brady Lake Road by the old Brady Lake School.
Deep End had opened the back door of this woman's car and was doing who knows what.
I hope what-ever this woman had done made it OK to almost cause an accident going after her,but I doubt it.
This is just more reasons to Dissolve BLV and get the Portage County Sheriff for BLV's police protection and not have a police state.

2:abandoned to vice and corruption:shamelessly immoral !
The very reason BLV is Broke,is because the BLV clerk gang(officials)were,PROFLIGATE,with BLV tax dollars and spent the money just like it Was Not their own money on things that made the clerk gang happy,but made BLV unsafe !

I've decided to vote yes on issue 10 just for the simple reason the clerk's smoked out husband will no longer be on the streets of brady lake village in a tax payer dump truck.
Talk about selfish and self serving-we're getting leaf pick up this year only to pacify us before Election Day!
The village cannot afford leaf pick up so we have volunteers headed up by none other than the clerk's husband.
It's a family thing, they don't want to loose their cushy income from the residents here.
I hope that I have made my last contribution to that family!
Daniel , Sister Laurel don't be consumed by anger any longer. I know you are going to put your full weight behind dissolving our wonderful village. But we have much faith in you especially Sister Laurel. Such a kind woman after issue 10 fails pick up the OLD Testament there will be a copy waiting for you near the hydrant at fire boat dock area on Nov 6th. Its a gift take it and read the book between Esther and Psalms. Then rethink about what you have gone through and how much you have to give. Then come to the a meeting and help make this a greater place with your creativity and knack for helping when you want. For the lord hath given me eyes of righteousness
